Our story

The identity of Provence

The BARRAL company has committed itself to keep this identity: its localisation and range of products account for this commitment. The company has been located in the region of Nice for more than a hundred years

We consider olives and olive oil as a tradition. We are specialised in the production of olives from Provence (tiny black olives from the region Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, green Picholine from Gard and Nyons black olives) and in traditional recipes as the Provençal black olive paste, or Tapenade, Pistou (basil sauce from Provence), oil cured black ripe olives with "herbs de Provence".

 

The automation of the production

The factory is equiped with very modern and up-to-date machines. Five production lines automatically pack the olives in bags, another one packs and pasteurises the olives in jars. On the whole, the company produces 120, 000 bags or jars per day. The total production is 5, 000 tons of olives and 1, 000 tons of olive oil per year.

 

The international market

The BARRAL company is strongly implanted in western Europe, in the United States, in the Middle-East and in the Far-East.

Our wish is to strengthen our business with foreign countries and extend our product line. That is why we are looking for new distributors abroad.
